Firefighters douse dumpster fire overnight at Oaklands Elementary

No definitive cause found in Wednesday night fire

A dumpster fire on the grounds of Oaklands Elementary spurred multiple 911 calls late Wednesday night.

Victoria Fire responded to the blaze on Belmont Avenue at 10:55 p.m., dousing the fire and remaining on scene for approximately 30 minutes.

While no definitive cause has been found, the time of the blaze and the fact that it was in a dumpster make it appear suspicious.
