Roughly 1,500 people in East Sooke were without power Friday morning after a tree fell across some wires.
The power went out just before 6 a.m. and BC Hydro crews are now on scene. They’ve already restored power to more than half the homes and businesses in the area.
By 8:30 a.m. the number of customers affected was down to 565, and mostly confined to southwest of Sooke Road and east of Sea Lion Way.
Crews are enroute to an outage affecting 1,500 customers in #Sooke. They hope to arrive on-site by 7:25 a.m. and will share updates here: https://t.co/iWSQIYa2OU pic.twitter.com/T2Fisujqp5
