February 6, 1931 - April 14, 2021
It is with great sadness that Caroline passed peacefully with daughter, Mary at her side. Her life was adventurous right from birth in Old Windsor, England. She adored her parents, four sisters, brother & large Bartlett family.
Educated in a convent, taught English in Spain before joining the Royal Navy where she met her husband, Daniel Coakley & began her family with Geraldine (Mike), and Chris (Mary).
In 1955 she joined Danny in Halifax & and created Mary, Andrew (Myrtle), Timmy (Arlene), Fergus and Jennifer. With Danny at sea, she created an organized, loving & fun home, always present & encouraged participation in every program offered.
She loved visiting family in England & across Canada. Her 13 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren adored her. In her latter years she lived in Ontario, England and Sooke, BC.
An avid golfer, talented creative hands, & was well loved everywhere for her kindness, sense of humour, wit & regal dignity. She will be missed by her large family. The community of Sooke showed its remarkable loving, caring heart to Caroline in welcoming and supporting her as she dashed about on her red scooter.
Otter Pt Dental, Western Foods, the cafes, St Rosa of Lima, RBC & RCMP (for bringing her home & not telling on her!)
The family is grateful for the respectful, loving care from the Priory Long Term Care staff. Caroline will be interred at St. Monica's Catholic Cemetery in Middleton, NS in August 2022.
One last epic road trip! Donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of BC, Heart and Stroke Foundation, casaguatemala.org.
