Emily (Emma) Florence McMahon was born on October 20, 1934, in County Armagh, Northern Ireland and passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on March 3, 2024, at the age of 89 years. Emma met Norman in County Armagh and were married on March 27, 1957, and they would have celebrated 67 years of marriage. Emma and Norman moved to Sooke in 1966 where they raised their 4 daughters. Emma was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. Emma and her husband Norman loved spending time with family and friends on their Denman Island property. She also enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, baking and long walks on the beach and trails. Emma will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Norman, 4 daughters, Linda (Hilton), Heather (Gary), Gillian (Pre-deceased Brad), Norma (Shawn) and 5 grandchildren, Barry (Lindsay), Colleen (Adam), Jenny (Ryan), Phillip, Megan and 5 great-grandchildren, Eavan, Vera, Maverick, Elam, Sid. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Tracy Forsberg, Sooke Hospice, Sooke Loan Cupboard, Canadian Red Cross Society, and the amazing caregivers who supported and cared for Emma and family through this difficult time.
