Sheila passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the age of 89. Sheila was predeceased by her husband Jim Parkinson in 1990 and is survived by her three children, Betty Collins (Mike), Ginny Parkinson, and Derek Parkinson (Rachelle) along with eight grandchildren and three great grand-daughters. She is also survived by her two brothers Craig and Michael McFeely.
Sheila spent her younger years moving with her family from Vancouver to Qualicum and has the fondest memories on Lasqueti Island calling them "the happiest times in her life".
Sheila and Jim were wed in 1952 and moved to Sooke in 1966 and became part of the Sooke Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her love of spiritual things became the focal point of her life. In Sooke, they shared many happy memories together with their children and grandchildren in the garden, on picnics, camping or simply enjoying walks on the beach.
She was known for her kindness, her generous hospitality, her unwavering faith in her God and of course her delicious pies!
A Memorial will be held at the Sooke Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2207 Church Road, Sooke on November 18th at 2:00 p.m.
