Thomas (Tom) Toole was born on November 20, 1927 in Liverpool, England. He passed away peacefully August 16, 2023 in his sleep on a warm sunny day with his family by his side.
He is predeceased by his wife Brenda, and will be missed by his children Barbara, Alan, Lesley, Carol, Kevin, Thomas and Adelaide; his 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews.
Granddad immigrated to Canada in 1957. He served in the military before immigrating and was a proud Trucker. He loved golf, horses, snooker, and his local legion and navy club.
Granddad's wish was to stay at home, which he was able to do thanks to his family. He was always self-sufficient, thoughtful and quick witted. He was always willing to tell a joke or a poem until his final days.
He was truly an amazing person, and will be missed more than he would have thought by his family in Canada and England, and his many friends who were lucky enough to know him.
Rest in peace with Brenda by your side forever. We love you.
Special thanks to Dr. Anton Rabien, whom Granddad liked very much; the team at Sands; the Sooke Hospice staff; and the VIHA nurses and care workers that helped Granddad to his last days, allowing his wish to stay at home to become a reality.
