An Extraordinary Man.
Boom man in his teens. Commercial fishermen for 30 years. Alaska Salmon fishing trips. And time spent in Australia. He loved his fall hunting trips with his brothers, friends and his boys. He was Band Manager for T'Sou-ke First Nation for a number of years. Also did Land Developing - two subdivisions.
Award winning De Mamiel Creek Estates. And one Quail Creek Developments in East Sooke. He was an Alternative CRD Director for a while. Also helped build Charters Creek Interpretation Centre. Working with Elida and Ray and a lot of volunteers to build the building and grounds and manage the tanks, hatchery on a small scale. Wally loved sharing this with the many field trips for children and general public. He worked with BC Hydro in allowing water to be released and raised water levels in Creek for salmon fry until rains came.
Wally built over seven houses and many renovations and so much more. He loved problem solving.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years Dorothy, son Nathan (Selena). Predeceased by son Nick (Dana). Leaves behind grandchildren Cole, Clay, Jenna, Sylas , Mica. Sisters Laura, Linda (Dale), brothers Ray and Steve (Blackduck) as well as many friends. Wally was a self taught man who loved his books. He was an extraordinary man. He will be missed.
