I organize rides for people to and from medical appointments through Contact Transportation. Yesterday I had to tell a client I could not help her as I did not have a driver.
We are down three drivers, next month only two. If there is anyone out there who would like to be a volunteer driver please call 250-389-4661. You need to be able to help people in and out of vehicles (no lifting), have a good driving record, $2 million liability insurance and be willing to have a police record check. You will receive a gas allowance to help with your cost. It is not a full time volunteer position, when I call if you are busy I go to the next person on the list.
I would hate to see this service discontinue due to lack of volunteer drivers. Some day you or a loved one may need this service and it will not be there.
