The ship Juan Sebastian is quoted as “carried 360 feet of canvas.”

This is a large ship and I thought that might be some cargo, perhaps. But the term carried usually means the amount of sail in square feet. Even so, 360 square feet might be enough for a dinghy but not this vessel.

I checked and this vessel carries 30,900 square feet of sail which is more like it. Just thought you might be interested in the difference.

It would have been wonderful to see it sail by Sooke. I hope it had full sail carried.
