Letters: Open letter to Harper

Letter writer thinks alternative ways to power should be used

Sir:

For heaven’s sake, use some common sense. It wouldn’t be just B.C. that would suffer, but the whole world.

If you care at all for Canada, forget any oil deal. All it would do is make some people richer, and those are rich enough already.

We gave you credit for some brains, but now we are wondering just how far you will go. Please think of the people in this. Think sun power, wind power, tide power, thermal power. It’s there to harness.

We don’t want oil tankers.

We don’t want a great long pipeline.

And we certainly don’t want you to thumb your nose at us out here in B.C.

Les and Flo Tickner
